Playa Flamingo is situated on the pacific coast of Costa Rica. Even though Playa Flamingo does not have the same level of development as Tamarindo, it is considered one of the most beautiful beaches in the whole of Costa Rica. It situates itself in Punta Salinas and 75km from the south-west of Liberia.

Its white sands make a visitor´s experience unforgettable. On Costa Rica one can practice water sports like deep-sea scuba diving and fishing. The waters here are rich wife sea life such as the sword fish, pipefish and tuna. Along with the beach the sea life bring tourists year after year to the fishing tournament celebrated by the Amateur fishing Club of Costa Rica.

By taking up scuba diving on Playa Flamingo you will get the exciting experience to deep sea dive with the white sharks which populate the waters of Costa Rica, as well as with the rich variety of tropical fish which live in the area.

In the surrounding areas the flora and fauna of the natural reserves of Santa Rosa and Palo Verde can be enjoyed to its maximum. Playa Flamingo in itself is a mixture of towns and resorts with 32,000 inhabitants which allows visitors to integrate in local life. Also Playa Flamingo is surrounded by other small typical towns which can be visited and provides the opportunity to get to know Latin America more. Despite its size tourists have no time to get bored considering the large amount of activities one can do with nature.

One of the most exciting visits is the nature park of del Rincón de la Vieja (The old Lady´s Corner) and the volcano which carries the same name. This volcano is still active and surrounding it are thermal and cold lakes in which tourists can truly relax go for a swim!

To get to Flamingo beach the easiest way is to access the Tamarindo airport which receives national flights. Then from there a short trip by taxi or bus to Playa Flamingo. From San José a journey by car or bus takes around 6 hours.

Playa Flamingo and Costa Rica in general will capture you. The beauty of its countryside and the friendliness of its people of the area will make you not want to leave the country and most probably make you want to return soon.
